Beat that pasta with a stick

Tuscany, Italy 2013. Handmade Pasta

Tuscany, Italy 2013. Handmade Pasta

This was one of the most well earned meals I have eaten. This was the day that we made from scratch, pasta, meat sauce (bolognese sauce), vegetable marinara, Tiramisu (which translate to “pick me up” in Italian, and Bruschetta.

There is something so powerful about taking a pile of soft, cool flour, creating an indentation at in the middle and cracking an egg right into it before pushing down, folding, and mixing for what seems like eternity into what will eventually become pasta dough. Now you can add a little olive oil to this but as my hands recall, I don’t remember that luxury. Nope, just flour, egg and salt.

If you think making pasta from scratch is a quick walk in the park, than think again.
